My main focus whenever I build any LEGO projects is to use the bricks I have in my inventory.  I also try to improvise and use alternative pieces I have available.   If I do need parts I go to Brick Link where I can easily find and order parts I need.

I made these dispensers for two special young ladies that I know.  Sisters...Elizabeth (10) and Katie (8). The pink one is for Elizabeth.  After I built it I disassembled it and made the pictorial as I reassembled it..  I moved onto  making Katie’s dispenser, her favourite colour is purple.  I soon discovered that due to the limitation of brick sizes and colours I would need  to create a different pictorial.  I decided to post both tutorials.

The girls had fun building their candy dispensers and both report no issues with the pictorial instructions.

I've made dozens of these candy dispensers using parts I had available at the time.   You can follow the pictorial but remember it's LEGO and you can substitute pieces shown to give it your own 

twist or your favorite colors.
